What is Menopause?

Dry Skin

One of the earliest symptoms women experience is dry skin. This can present itself in the form of tightness, itchiness, irritation, dullness, and flaking. Oestrogen plays a major role in skin hydration by regulating oil production and preventing transepidermal water loss, which helps keep the skin barrier intact. As oestrogen levels plummet, the skin is unable to retain moisture as efficiently. 

Skin boosters use naturally-occuring  such as Hyaluronic Acid to restore hydration levels in a non-invasive manner. At EF MEDISPA, we offer a range of different booster treatments including Profhilo, Sisthaema Hevo-T, and Polynucleotides. The first two incorporate Hyaluronic Acid, and the latter uses nucleotides. As this is injected directly into the skin, their water-binding properties work to retain moisture from the body to intensely hydrate the skin, revealing a plumper, nourished complexion.
